Before scheduling regular lessons, new students may schedule a one time in depth 

portfolio review that includes a personalized outline for a college-level portfolio.

While there is no short cut for disciplined art practices, our studio can help supercharge a portfolio! Jim DeCesare is a longtime fine arts professor, teen instructor and recognized professional artist. He provides encouragement and a detailed "success plan" that builds from the individual strengths of each teen. 

 

DeCesare's students find success with his professional, student-centered, no nonsense approach to painting and drawing. Scholarship-level portfolios consistently demonstrate a sound understanding of light, form, composition, color and perspective; a basis that meaningful creative voices emerge. DeCesare School students have gained acceptance and scholarship to schools including: Cooper Union, Rhode Island School of Design, The Fashion Institute of New York, Pratt Institute, Parsons, Hartford Art School, Mass College of Art, Maryland Institute College of Art, School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Lyme Academy of Art.
