My studio paintings seems to grow in size and complexity as the years progress. I consider time to create non-commissioned work a true blessing. In the face of a lightning-fast, socially connected culture, the act of oil painting is truly counter-cultural; a slow, gradual process of delayed gratification...a craft that takes a lifetime to master. Personal work is seldom informed by serious deadlines, sales, critics, or exhibitions. I create paintings that tell the story of the ideas and things most precious to me; mostly my faith and family.
